A unit of state oil company CubaPetróleo is overhauling a 12-kilometer stretch of the pipeline from a storage facility in Cárdenas to the oil tanker terminal in Matanzas, Granma reported. 

An eight-kilometer stretch of the pipeline has already undergone maintenance.

The oil company is also building a collector system around new wells near La Conchita, near Boca de Camarioca, also in Matanzas province.
