Analysis: The short- and mid-term economic outlook

In the short term, what can we expect? Here are some of the most important factors:
1. A more profound remodeling of the economic system, both of its internal and external sectors? Still a long way off.
2. A major opening to foreign investment? No. Rather, in dribs and drabs and in small size, with the exception of pending plans by Sherritt and Pernod Ricard. Investors currently distrust the crisis-stricken Cuban market. Economic collaboration with China, the European Union and Russia is either stagnant or in decline.
